Why September Might Be the Best Month for a San Francisco Wedding
People visiting San Francisco often assume June, July, and August offer the best wedding weather.
Locals know summer works a little differently here.
Fog and cool mornings are part of San Francisco's character during the traditional summer months, while September often brings warmer afternoons and clearer skies. In fact, August through October are typically among San Francisco's warmest months.
That can make September a great time for an outdoor ceremony, portraits around the city, or a reception where guests can comfortably spend more time outside.
Of course, San Francisco weather is never completely predictable. Temperatures can change from one neighborhood to another, and having a layer nearby is almost always a good idea.
But that's part of what makes getting married here different.
If you're choosing a date based on what "summer" usually means elsewhere, don't overlook September. In San Francisco, it might be closer to the summer wedding you were imagining all along.
