Should You Have Your Wedding in San Francisco or Wine Country?
San Francisco and Wine Country can be less than two hours apart, but they create very different wedding weekends.
A San Francisco wedding puts guests in the middle of the city. Hotels, restaurants, landmarks, and transportation are close by, and the wedding can feel connected to everything happening around it. For couples with guests flying in, that convenience can be a big advantage.
Napa and Sonoma offer a different pace. Once guests arrive, the weekend often feels more like a getaway. Vineyards, resorts, open landscapes, and smaller towns encourage people to settle in rather than move around the city.
Neither setting is automatically better. It comes down to the experience you want around the wedding itself.
Do you picture everyone exploring San Francisco between events, or spending the weekend together in Wine Country?
The venue will shape the wedding day, but the location shapes the whole weekend.
