What Actually Drives the Cost of a Wedding Film

Quotes for wedding videography vary more than almost any other vendor category, and most couples have no reference point for why. The spread isn't arbitrary. Three things account for most of it.

Crew size. One videographer can cover the full ceremony, as well as the rest of the wedding. Two means more coverage, especially in moments when video capture is needed in more than one spot at the same time. For example, the bride and groom getting ready in different locations, the cocktail hour and the couples portraits happening simultaneously, etc. The number of videographers is the one of the biggest differences between packages, and the one couples notice least when comparing quotes.

Hours of coverage. This is where couples most often under-buy, booking six hours for a day that runs twelve and then paying to extend on the day itself. Working backward from your actual timeline is more useful than picking a package tier.

Edit depth. A short highlight film and a highlight plus a full ceremony edit, speeches, and a longer documentary cut are very different amounts of work. Two quotes can look similar and deliver completely different things.

What price alone doesn't tell you is quality. A higher number can mean a bigger team or just more marketing. The useful comparison is always the same: how many people, how many hours, and what you actually receive at the end.
